How To - Control Percent Pay on Specific Line Items

Overview:
How can I control the percent I pay the drivers?  What if I do not want to pay them anything when I collect a fuel surcharge?

Steps:

  1. In Trip Settlements, go to View, Settlement Accounts and Codes, Driver Billing Codes.
  2. You need to edit any code that you use in Freight Billing where you do NOT want to pay the driver his regular percent.These records will override the standard percentages.For example, if you do not want to pay the driver for fuel surcharge code FS, edit that code.  
  3. In the percentage field, select Y.  This means, YES; you want to override this particular code.
  4. There are 3 fields for the actual percent that you do want to pay, single, lead, and 2nd.  
  5. Key in the percent to pay.  In this example, your percent would be zero, meaning that when you bill with a FS code, you do not want to pay the driver.
  6. If you want to pay the driver all of the unloading fee billed, then edit code LD (or whichever code you use) and key in 100.00 in the percent fields.
  7. If you want to pay the driver some percent other than his regular pay percent, enter the percent that you do want to pay this code.
