How does the Journal Aging Report calculate total open credits? (DNP)

Question: How does the Journal Aging Report calculate total open credits?

Answer:

At the bottom of the Journal Aging Report in Horizon Billing, a line shows a Customer Balance Due and a Total Open Credits. The customer balance due is the total amount outstanding minus the total open credits.

The Total Open Credits are calculated from the Journal File by totalling all open credit entries  (PostType ="D") and subtracting the total of all applied credit entries (PostType = "C").

This Total Open Credits is not filtered based on the Cutoff date entered by the user for the report, but rather is a total based on all entries in the journal file.
