FAQ - How do I get Exceptions to Transfer?

Question: I edited an exception and re-transferred, but the same exception reappears with the same spelling as before or the spelling for city and state appear to be correct and will lookup in PC Miler.  How do I get this exception to transfer?

Answer:

Horizon Dispatch uses zip to zip lookups for shipments.  Check the zip code in the exception and validate it in PC Miler.  Even if the city/state is correct, if the zip code is not valid, this will be an exception.  Either correct the zip code, or blank it out.  City/state will be used for the lookup if zip code is blank.  If you have shipment exceptions, work on clearing these 1st.  Once you get the shipments to transfer, most of the checkcalls will probably transfer also.  A shipment exception can cause you to have checkcall exceptions for that driver too.

You can also go to the assign screen and edit the checkcalls there (instead of under edit exceptions).  Look for all checkcalls for that driver for the same city.  Be sure that all occurrences of the same city are spelled exactly the same way.

If the load has stopoffs, go to the shipment window, change filter to all loads, no filter.  Highlight the load with an exception, go to the F3 menu and edit the load and stopoffs.   Be sure that all cities are spelled correctly, and that all occurrences of the same city are spelled exactly the same.

Verify that all spellings will lookup in PC Miler or your mileage package.
